The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and most beloved Rolex watches ever made, even though the Datejust was launched in 1945 it has remained a timeless classic and is instantly recognizable as an item of refined quality and functional design.This Datejust can be worn just as easily with a suit as it can be with jeans and a tee-shirt. This specific 1970 Datejust Ref. 1603 is a unique variant, commonly referred to as the "Wide Boy" as the marker and hand configuration are much wider in look and design than the typical stick markers and baton hands more commonly found on Datejust references of the same era. CASE & BRACELET

The previously lightly polished case is in excellent condition, retaining thick and symmetrical lugs with almost no signs of use. The stainless steel engine turned bezel remains unpolished with very light signs of use. The Rolex 62510H rolled-link Jubilee bracelet with 55 end pieces retains 22 links that show some stretch from use.

DIAL & HANDS

The silver sunburst "pie-pan" wide boy dial is exceptionally well-preserved, showing no damage or major signs of age. The tritium lume plots are all full intact when inspected under U.V. light and display a lovely ivory patina. The original cigarette-style hands match the dial nicely and exhibit no degradation under U.V. light inspection. The metallic date wheel is original with open 6's and 9's.

ACCESSORIES 

The watch comes complete with its original Rolex Guarantee paperwork with punched serial. The watch was just serviced and running at COSC spec. The watch will come with a 1-year warranty of accurate timekeeping​.
